It's Homecoming Week

A letter from AD Chris Davis

It's Homecoming Week at Georgia Southern, one of the most special times of the year for our University and our community. There's nothing quite like seeing our alumni, students and fans return to Statesboro to celebrate what makes this place so unique.

Homecoming is about more than just a football game — it's about coming home. It's about reconnecting with friends, revisiting the campus that helped shape who we are and showing our pride for the Blue and White. From the parade and pep rallies to the tailgates and campus festivities, there's something for everyone throughout the week. I encourage you to get involved, take part in the traditions and experience the spirit that defines Georgia Southern.

We have a full weekend of Eagle action ahead. Our volleyball team, off to a strong 14-3 start, hosts App State on Thursday and Friday. Our nationally ranked men's soccer team takes on Coastal Carolina Friday night in a big Sun Belt matchup.

And then, of course, it all culminates on Saturday at Paulson Stadium as we take on Georgia State at 7 p.m. This is a big one — a rivalry game, a conference battle and an opportunity to show what True Blue passion looks like. Remember, for this game, it's a White Out, so be sure to pick out your best gear and let's paint Paulson white!

This year, we have even more to celebrate! Saturday's game is not only a rivalry matchup against Georgia State, but it's also the Georgia Grown Bowl, Celebrate Agriculture Day and Tackling for a Cure, supporting cancer awareness and research. There's a lot happening on and off the field, and we want everyone to be part of it.

We've had incredible crowds all season, and I look forward to another electric atmosphere on Saturday. Our student-athletes continue to work hard in practice and feed off your energy on game day. When The Prettiest Little Stadium in America is rocking, there's no better home-field advantage in college football.

Let's make this Homecoming one to remember. Bring your friends, your family, your voice and your Eagle spirit. Let's Pack Paulson, be loud, be proud and help push our team to victory.

Here's a quick list of events going on around Homecoming starting tonight, both on campus and around athletics. I encourage you to attend as many as possible and get ready to GATA!
