Hunter Thomas hit two walk-off hits to help the Georgia Southern Eagles sweep a Sun Belt Conference series from the Appalachian State Mountaineers. Thomas drove in two runs with an infield single in the ninth inning of the series opener against the Mountaineers and found himself at the plate in the 10th inning on Sunday. Thomas hit the first pitch he saw over the head of the centerfielder for a walk-off double in the series finale. Thomas opened the week with a single against Mercer. He finished the week four for 14 with two doubles and four RBI.

Connor Simmons held Appalachian State scoreless over 6.1 innings and struck out a career-high eight batters. Simmons was in line for the win before the the Mountaineers rallied back with three runs in the eighth inning and two in the ninth inning. Simmons held the Mountaineers to seven hits and did not walk a batter in his fourth start of the season. Simmons struck out two batters in each of the first, fourth and sixth innings. Simmons opened the game by retiring six of the first seven batters he faced and worked around a lead off double in the third inning.
