Game Notes
STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern baseball team will wrap up a four-game road trip at The Citadel on Tuesday.
First pitch from Joseph P. Riley Park is set for 6 p.m.
The Eagles (12-9) are still looking for their first mid-week victory of the year and are 0-5 this season. Georgia Southern dropped the final two games against Troy and lost their first Sun Belt Conference series of the year over the weekend.
The pitching staff posted a 1.80 ERA over the weekend and allowed just five earned runs in the three games.
Evan Challenger tossed seven scoreless frames after allowing an unearned run in the first inning of the series opener and picked up the Eagles' lone win of the week.
Connor Simmons allowed one unearned run over 4.1 innings but took the loss in Sunday's 2-1 finale.
The Eagles hit .305 over the weekend.
Kody Adams and
Logan Baldwin both had five hits in the series. On the season, GS is hitting .264. Adams leads the club with a .344 batting average and five doubles.
Aaron Mizell has a team-best 17 RBI and three home runs. Mizell is hitting .263 with five doubles and three triples this season.

Rodney Hennon will send senior righthander
Patrick Riley to the mound on Tuesday.
Riley (0-0) has appeared in six games this season and holds a 1.13 ERA. Riley will be making his first career start on Tuesday. He last appeared at Troy and tossed two scoreless frames in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.
Head Coach Fred Jordan will counter with righthander Austin Mason. Mason (1-0) has made five starts on the season and holds a 4.66 ERA.
The junior began the year in the weekend rotation and his last appearance came in a start against Elon. Mason allowed four runs – three earned – on three hits and struck out two batters over three innings.
The Bulldogs (10-7) are 6-3 since winning the first meeting in Statesboro 3-2 on Feb. 24. The Citadel has won five-straight games, winning two against Elon before sweeping Lafayette over the weekend.
As a team The Citadel is hitting .273. Stephen Windham leads the squad with a .413 batting average. Connor Walsh has a team-best 18 RBI and has hit six doubles on the year.
