Eagles Post Top-10 Finishes on Final Day of Sun Belt Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four Georgia Southern Eagles posted top-10 finishes in day two of the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships.

The Texas State Bobcats won the championship with 147.5 points. Georgia Southern finished 11th in the meet.

Ashleigh Rasheed posted a pair of top-5 finishes to lead the Eagles. Rasheed finished fourth in the pentathlon long jump (5.26 m) and fifth in the triple jump (12.10m).

Taylor Johnson set a pair of personal records in the pentathlon. Johnson finished fifth in the shot put (10.49m) and 10th in the high jump (1.51m).

Asha Stegall posted an 8th place finish in the 400m dash (57.38) and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished with a season best time of 3:56.72.

GS will open the outdoor season March 7th at the USA Jaguar Open in Gulf Shores, Ala.
