• The Eagles are in a stretch in which they play six of eight contests at home.
• Georgia Southern has lost its last three and is coming off an 88-81 setback to Winthrop Saturday afternoon. It was the fifth time the Eagles scored 80 or more points this season.
• Georgia Southern is 22-9 under head coach
Mark Byington in Hanner Fieldhouse and posted a 13-2 record in the building last season. The Eagles are 2-1 this season.

• Derick Newton leads the team in scoring with 15.5 points a game, while Divine Myles averages 13.6 points and 4.7 assists a contest. Brian Pegg averages 10 points and 8.4 rebounds.
The Series• Georgia Southern leads the series, which began in 1933, 42-29 and has won the last five.
• The Eagles earned a 76-67 victory over the Hatters on the road last season behind 30 points from
Jelani Hewitt. Hewitt scored 20 points in the second half after the Eagles trailed by seven points at halftime.
• GS shot 56 percent in the second period and went 6-of-12 from beyond the arc down the stretch to take the win.
• Georgia Southern was 12-2 against Stetson when the schools were both members of the TAAC. The Eagles have won 13 of the last 16 contests in the series since 1987.
