GAME PROMOTIONS• Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to Monday night's game to donate to Toys for Tots. There will be collection bins at the game.
•
Field Trip Day – Close to 1,200 elementary and middle school students from five local schools will be in attendance. Those schools include Langston Chapel Elementary, Langston Chapel Middle, Portal Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary and William James Middle.
LAYUP LINE• The Eagles are in the midst of a three-game home stand. The game against Robert Morris is the final home game of the 2015 portion of the season.
• Georgia Southern picked up the first win of the season, and the first Division 1 win for head coach
Kip Drown, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 with a 64-48 road win at Savannah State.
• The Eagles are 3-0 so far in the month of December. It is the first three-game winning streak since Rusty Cram's 2011-12 team bested Jacksonville (52-46, 12/21/11), Southern Wesleyan (75-40, 12/30/11), and Wofford (56-48, 1/2/12) in consecutive games.
• The three-straight wins in 2011-12 was also the last time the Eagles won three-straight games at home.
• The last time Georgia Southern women's basketball won four games in a row was during the 2010-11 season. Rusty Cram's squad bested Stetson (54-49, 12/14/10) on the road and then claimed three-straight home games over Chattanooga (77-69 ot, 12/18/10), Samford (67-66, 12/20/10), and High Point (66-60, 12/29/10).
QUICK HITTERS• The 64 points scored in Monday's win over Charleston Southern ties the season-high for most team points. The Eagles also hit the mark in the first win of the season at Savannah State.
• Speaking of matching season-highs, the Eagles' 22 field goals made and 44.9% shooting performance against Charleston Southern also matched season-highs set against the Tigers of Savannah State.
• When Georgia Southern scored 32 points in the first half of Monday's game, it was the most first half points scored this season by GSU. The Eagles scored 14 points in the first quarter (also a season-high for that period) and 18 in the second quarter. Georgia Southern's season-high for points in a half was 39 in the second half against Savannah State.
• In the last three games the Eagles have averaged 62.7 points per contest, bringing their season average up to 53.5 while allowing opponents to score 59.7. If you take out the Georgia game, the Eagles have held opponents to 56.6 points and have averaged 58.6 points per game for a scoring margin of +2.0.
STAT TRACKING• Senior forward
Sierra Kirkland is just 26 rebounds away from moving into the top-20 all-time for rebounds in a career. She is averaging 4.8 per game and the Eagles have 23 games remaining, including the contest with Robert Morris. If Kirkland continues on this path she should easily surpass the 493 mark.
• Kirkland is also 16 games away from 15th all-time in games played (113). With 23 regular-season games remaining, Kirkland should finish the season second all-time in games played with 120. She would need just 1 post-season game to tie the school record for most games played in a career, set by Jessica Geiger (2006-10)
THE HISTORY WITH THE COLONIALS• This will be just the second meeting all-time between the two programs and first since the 1984-85 season.
• GS claimed a 68-65 win over the Colonials on January 5, 1985 in the Central Florida Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
• Thursday's game will be the first meeting on either team's home court as the previous game was held on a neutral court.
SCOUTING ROBERT MORRIS• Robert Morris enters Thursday's game on a two-game losing skid following losses at Iowa (69-50) and at Florida (79-52). The Colonials have lost four of their last five with the lone win in the last five games coming at home over Morgan State (76-44).
• On the road, the Colonials are 2-4 this season with their two wins coming at Monmouth (60-47) and La Salle (76-45). RMU is in the midst of a three-game road skid.
• While on the road, RMU is averaging 59.5 points per game while giving up 64.8 points per contest for a point margin of -5.3.
• As a team, the Colonials are averaging 69.7 points per game while holding their opposition to 62.7 points per outing.
• The Colonials are shooting 42.0% from the field and 34.6% from beyond the three-point arc.
• A Niki Stamolamprou leads RMU with 13.2 points per game. She is followed up by Rebeca Navarro (9.8) and Mikalah Mulrain (9.0).
• Stamolamprou also leads the team in minutes per game (32.2) and field goals made (48).
• Megan Smith leds the team with 6.3 rebounds per outing and throws in 7.2 points per game.
• RMU has employed the same starting five for all nine games. That five includes Stamolamprou, Navarro, Mulrain, Ashley Ravelli and Smith.
• 10 different players have played in all nine games so far this season and four more players have seen action this season for the Colonials.
