Eagle Cross Country Prepares for NCAA South Regional Championships

Georgia Southern is part of 36-team field in South Regional
TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – The Georgia Southern Cross Country program makes its first trip to the postseason on Friday when the Eagles run in the NCAA South Regional. The meet, hosted by the University of Alabama, returns to Tuscaloosa for the first time since the 2013 season.

EAGLES STEP UP TO 6K RACE
For the first time this season, Georgia Southern will race a 6K race having competed at the 5K length for most of the season. The course at the Harry Pirtchett Running Park covers the old University of Alabama Golf Course until 2003 when the facility was converted exclusively into a running course.
EAGLES PLACE SIXTH IN SUN BELT CHAMPIONSHIPS
After being picked in the Sun Belt Conference's preseason coaches' poll, Georgia Southern delivered a sixth place finish with an excellent second half of the race to jump four spots over the final kilometers of the race. The Eagles were covered by just 57 seconds, the second-closest spread among teams in the league meet.
EAGLES RESTED AND POISED FOR NCAA RUN
The Eagles enter Friday's meet having rested for the last two weeks following the Sun Belt Championships on November 1st.
