Georgia Southern travels to Louisiana for two Sun Belt Conference matches this weekend. The Eagles meet UL Monroe Friday and UL Lafayette Saturday.

Senior Jamie DeRatt had 15 kills and 19 digs against Arkansas State for her first double-double this season and the 27th of her career. She needs 232 kills and 230 digs to reach 1,000 for her career.

Senior Kym Coley had double-figure kills in all three matches last week and has double-figure kills in seven matches this season. She is 291 kills away from 1,000 for her career.

Junior Kat Minnerly posted career highs of 55 assists and 18 digs against Arkansas State. She is 184 assists away from 2,000 for her career and has tallied 50-plus assists in a match eight times in her three seasons as an Eagle.

Junior Crysten Curry is 80 blocks shy of 300 for her career, which will put her in seventh on the school's all-time list.

Coley has been named one of 30 candidates for the Senior Class Award for excellence, both on and off the court. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship in December.

The Eagles faced three top-20 teams and six opponents from Power-5 conferences in its first nine non-conference matches this season.
