"STZ" Comes to Life at Paulson Stadium

GSU students cheer on the Eagles.
STATESBORO, Ga.- The Paulson Stadium expansion project has facilitated many positive changes for Georgia Southern Football and it's fans. As we "Join the Journey" in 2014, Paulson Stadium's upgrades will provide extra benefits for the students, who are the livelihood of the Georgia Southern Football atmosphere.  New features include expanding student seating and adding an exclusive student tailgate area (Student Tailgate Zone, or STZ).

As the Eagles make the move to the FBS by joining the SunBelt Conference in 2014, students will now be able to enjoy the games from the entire lower level on the North side of the stadium. This will ensure that every student gets a seat to cheer on the Eagles. In the event of overflow, students can sit in the upper level of the North side.

The STZ, or Student Tailgate Zone, is located directly behind the North side of the stadium. This will be a free, exclusive tailgate area for all GSU students and will include interactive games, local vendors with free student giveaways, inflatables, and even live music.

"We created the STZ to provide a festive environment for students at football games," said Gleen Hart, Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. "The students play a huge role in making each game special, and we wanted to offer an exclusive area for them to enjoy the pregame events and cheer on the Eagles."

Tailgating spots within the STZ can be reserved by student groups through the Athletic Marketing Department, and reservation details will be communicated to students later in the summer. Tailgating in the STZ is free for all students with their student ID.

Students can pick up their tickets at the gate on gameday with their student IDs. For more information on student ticket distribution, follow the link below.
