Garrett Chapman led the team with a .429 batting average in four starts last week. Chapman went six for 14 with three runs scored and three RBI. Chapman slugged .500 and tallied a double in the win over the College of Charleston. Chapman capped off the week with two hits in the series finale against Samford. Chapman also drove in the game-winning run in game one of Sunday's doubleheader with a sacrifice fly.

Josh Wirsu improved to 8-2 on the year after holding Samford to two runs – one earned – over eight innings in Sunday's 4-2 win. Wirsu allowed an unearned run in the first inning before settling in to throw seven scoreless frames. Wirsu pitched into the ninth inning and out-dueled Bulldog starter Jared Brasher in what was a 1-1 tie after six innings. The junior righthander allowed just five hits, walked three and struck out nine batters on 114 pitches.
