Hamilton led the Eagles at the plate in the opening weekend of the league season with a .500 average and a .600 on base percentage. She went 1-for-3 in each of the first two games of the series, hitting a double in game two of the doubleheader. In Sunday's shootout, Hamilton reached base on all four trips to the plate, going 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBIs, a walk and a HBP.

Brooke Red picked up a win in Saturday's second game against UNCG. She allowed three runs, all earned in the victory. Red struck out a career-best 12 batters and improved to 3-0 for her career when allowing 8+ hits. She got the start in Sunday's finale, going 3.2 innings, but was saddled with five unearned runs in the fourth inning. She struck out four in that contest and did not factor in the decision.
