Storylines: Georgia Southern returns home, where they are 13-1 this season, to host the nationally-ranked Clemson Tigers for two games on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Eagles are coming off a Southern Conference opening series loss to Elon over the weekend. The loss on Friday night ended a season-long eight game win streak. GSU is meeting the Tigers for the second-straight season after getting swept in a three-game series in Clemson last year. Head Coach Rodney Hennon will square off against his former head coach in Clemson's Head Coach Jack Leggett. Leggett coached Hennon for two seasons at Western Carolina in 1990 and 1991. The Eagles are looking to get back in the win column and snap a 13 game losing streak in the series at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. First pitch in Wednesday's two-game series finale is set for 4 p.m.
Promotions: Georgia Southern is honoring Bulloch County employees and Georgia Southern University Faculty and Staff during the Clemson series. All Bulloch County, City of Statesboro and Bulloch County School employees get a discounted ticket of $5 with their employee ID. GSU Faculty and Staff get free admission to both games. Fans can also purchase chicken sliders for only $2 at the concession stand and play baseball bingo during both contests.
Series History: Clemson holds a 52-28-1 record in the all-time series and has won 13-straight games dating back to 2001. Georgia Southern last won on March 13, 2001 in 10 innings 12-9. The Eagles won four-straight meetings from 1995-2001, all in extra innings. The Tigers are 13-5 all-time in Statesboro, but have not played in the renovated J.I. Clements Stadium. Clemson swept the three-game series a year ago, outscoring GSU 25-7.

Southern: The Georgia Southern Eagles have tallied 10 or more hits in six of their last seven contests and nine of their last 11 games after recording 10 hits in both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Elon. Georgia Southern tallied just 22 10+ hit games in 2013 and went without 10 hits in their final eight contests, their last 10-hit game came in the series finale at Clemson on May 12, 2013. The 2014 squad also has two 20+ hit games, two more than they did in 2013. Garrett Chapman and Dalton Busby lead the squad with 11 multi-hit games, while Aaron Mizell has the team's lone four-hit game.
Clemson: After dropping four-straight to South Carolina and Western Carolina, the Clemson Tigers have won six of their last seven games. Clemson bounced back with a sweep of Virginia Tech, winning 7-6 in the series opener before running away with the series 12-2, 11-4. The Tigers went 3-1 last week, defeating Appalachian State 2-1 on Wednesday, and took two of three games from Wake Forest over the weekend. Clemson scored 16 runs on 18 hits in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader and followed that up with seven runs and 14 hits in game two. Tyler Krieger leads the team with a .371 batting average, while Chris Okey has a team-best 24 RBI.
Who's Hot: Garrett Chapman hit three of his four home runs this season during the four games last week and led the team with a .462 batting average. Chapman homered against North Florida and in both games of Saturday's doubleheader. ... Chris Okey added to his team-best 24 RBI with seven runs driven in during the Wake Forest Series. Okey had a hit in all three games in the series and is hitting .265 on the year.

Ryan Frederick will make his first start since March 8, when he allowed two runs and struck out seven in a no decision against Holy Cross. Frederick allowed four hits and did not walk a batter over 4.2 innings in that contest. He was unable to get out of the fifth inning after allowing a lead off double and a run on a sac bunt.
Zack Erwin went 7.2 innings and allowed one run on four hits in a 2-1 Tiger win over Appalachian State last Wednesday. Erwin struck out seven and did not walk a batter for his first victory of the season. Erwin has two saves on the year, both in his first two appearances of the season against Eastern Michigan and Maine.
