Men's Tennis Drops a Close One to JMU

GREENVILLE, N.C.- Georgia Southern men's tennis fell in a close match to James Madison this weekend (4-3). The Eagles won two singles matches and two doubles matches, but couldn't squeak out another to take the advantage. GSU remains winless this season with a 0-6 record, while JMU improves to 2-1.
The top three singles matches were taken by the Dukes. Senior Oliver Webb was defeated in a three set match by Robert Stirling (4-6, 6-4, 6-2). Albert Codina Sala fell to Sebastian Salinas in two sets (6-3, 6-4). Freshman Nico DeGroof cinched his first set against Miljan Ruzic 6-5, but Ruzic bounced back and took the second and third sets 6-2 and 6-4. Marco Osorio and Rafael Racy each notched wins for the Eagles.
In doubles play, Kyle Hoffman and Rafael Racy were defeated 6-1 by Miljan Ruzic and Robert Stirling. The pair of Nico DeGroof and Marco Osorio proved victorious for the Eagles, along with Oliver Webb and Christian Kerrigan, earning the doubles point for GSU.

The Eagles next match is against University of North Florida on February 15th, in Jacksonville, Florida.
