Day One of Georgia Southern Round Robins Complete

Day Two Gets Underway Saturday at 10 a.m.
Statesboro, Ga. – Day one is complete at the Georgia Southern Round Robins. The Eagles are hosting the College of Charleston and Georgia State for the flighted round-robin tournament that features both doubles and singles action. Overall, 8 student-athletes are representing the Eagles at the event.
In "A singles" Albert Codina Sala defeated College of Charleston's Brice Allanic in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Ristomatti Lanne was setback by Zack Kennedy of Georgia State 2-6, 6-7(1).
Kyle Hoffman battled Charlie Ghriskey of College of Charleston and fell in straight sets 2-6, 4-6. Daniel Casablancas put up a fight in the first set, but ultimate fell to Georgia State's Sofiane Chevallier 6-7(2), 1-6.
The "B singles" flight saw Jose Eduaro Landin Lopez win a three set match over Joseph Bishop of Georgia State 1-6, 6-1, 6-0. Christian Kerrigan defeated College of Charleston's Alon Faiman 6-3, 6-1 while teammate Nico de Groof battled Valentin Horvat of Georgia State to three sets before being setback 6-7(5), 7-5, 5-7.
Pradeep Raja fell to Matt Daly of College of Charleston 2-6, 2-6 and teammate Robbie Thompson was defeated 2-6, 6-7(2) to Georgia State's Christian Gochnauer.
In doubles action, the duo of Hoffman/Landin handed Handa/Horvat of Georgia State a loss 8-4 and Thompson/Casablancas defeated the College of Charleston's tandem of Daly/Faiman 8-6.
The tandem of Kerrigan/Codina Sala fell 4-8 to Georgia State's Chevallier/Kennedy and Lanne/DeGroof were setback by Ghriskey/Kichigin of College of Charleston 7(4)-8.
Day two will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wallis Tennis Center on the campus of Georgia Southern.
