Eagles Conclude Nike Cup

Statesboro, Ga. – Divers Erin Hembree and Emma Weisel completed competition at the Nike Cup Friday where the duo participated in the 3 meter and 1 meter diving events.
The Nike Cup, hosted by the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, saw a total of 33 divers compete
Friday. Hembree finished 27th with a score of 201.25 while teammate Weisel finished 28th scoring 200.80.
Rachel Mumma of North Carolina State finished the preliminary round with a score of 312.90 to lead the pack. With their preliminary scores, both Hembree and Weisel finished outside the cut for making it to the finals.
"Both divers finished the Nike Cup with a solid showing," applauded Assistant Coach/Diving Coach David Giambra." "Both Emma and Erin did some great dives in the contest but finished out of the finals. The meet was a good end to the fall semester. We have Christmas training coming up soon where we can work on some of the small details that improve our scores."
The divers will return to action Saturday January 17th when they take on the College of Charleston from the RAC Aquatics Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
