Baseball Helps with Fall Festival, Buddy Ball

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern baseball team is still a few months away from first pitch against Benthune-Cookman on Feb. 13 but were in the community this weekend at the Mattie Lively Elementary School Fall Festival and Buddy Ball.
The 2015 baseball team helped with games and spent time with the children and teachers of Mattie Lively Elementary School on Saturday.
The Georgia Southern baseball and softball teams then took to the field of Mill Creek on Sunday to help with Buddy Ball.
Buddy Ball allows children with disabilities to take to the field, swing the bat and run the bases. The student-athletes served as a "buddy" for a disabled child, helping him or her to experience the game of baseball.
