Pro Eagle Update: Minor League Seasons Come to Close

STATESBORO, Ga. – Many former Georgia Southern baseball members completed their 2014 minor league baseball seasons.
Eric Alonzo – Eric pitched in 16 games with the Arizona League Angels and went 2-1 with a 2.01 ERA. He pitched a total of 31.1 innings in those 16 games. In addition to having a 2.01 ERA he also had 21 strikeouts.
Chris Beck – Chris played for two minor league teams in 2014. He played for the Birmingham Barons and the Charlotte Knights. Beck had a combined record of 6-11 with both teams and a 3.54 ERA. He started 27 games for both teams and pitched a total of 150 innings. In one game with the Birmingham Barons he pitched seven innings and had seven strikeouts. He was named the 2014 Baron's Pitcher of the Year. Beck was promoted to triple – A Charlotte on July 28th.
Sam Howard – Sam played on the Grand Junction Rockies in the Pioneer League. He went 1-3 with a 5.40 ERA. Howard appeared in 14 games with the Grand Junction Rockies and started 13 of those games. He pitched 53.1 innings while only giving up 6 home runs and striking out 42 batters.
Jarret Leverett – Jarret played in the Frontier League with the Frontier Greys. He went 0-6 with a 2.71 ERA in 46.1 innings. Leverett had 44 strikeouts and five saves in 33 games.
Andy Moye – Andy played for two minor league teams in 2014. He played for the Huntsville Stars and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Moye had a combined record of 5-2 with both teams and a 4.22 ERA. He pitched 53.1 innings while striking out 34 batters.
Matt Murray – Matt played for two minor league teams in 2014. He played for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and the Wilmington Blue Rocks. With those two teams he had a combined record of 1-7 with 3.94 ERA. He pitched 93.2 innings while striking out 80 batters.
Shawn Payne – Shawn played for the San Jose Giants in the California League and the Augusta GreenJackets in the South Atlantic League. He appeared in a total of 99 games with both teams and hit .273. He had five home runs and 33 RBI. His slugging percentage was .375.
Victor Roache – Victor played for the Brevard County Manatees in Class A Advanced. He played in 122 games and had 98 hits. Roache hit 18 home runs and 54 RBI in 433 at bats. He had 37 walks and stole 11 bases in 13 attempts. In one game with the Brevard County Manatees he hit three homeruns and had four RBI.
Everett Teaford – Everett played for the LG Twins in the Korean League. He appeared in 18 games and had a 5.13 ERA in 94.2 innings. Teaford went 5-6 and gave up just seven home runs along with 101 hits. He also had 78 strikeouts to just 48 walks.
