¦ Georgia Southern returns to action at Appalachian State Monday in a 6 p.m. contest.
¦ It's the first of two scheduled meetings against the Mountaineers this season.
¦ Both teams enter the game with 4-4 league records and tied for fourth with Elon in the standings.
¦ The Eagles are 3-2 in their last five, and all five contests have been SoCon games. Georgia Southern is coming off a 63-56 win at Western Carolina Saturday afternoon.
¦ Georgia Southern is 3-6 on the road this season and 2-1 in road league games.
¦ Anna Claire Knight ranks third in the SoCon and leads GSU in scoring at 15.8 points a game. The junior has scored in double figures in 16 of the last 17 outings. She recorded the first triple-double in program history and the 11th in the country this season with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Samford Jan. 6.
¦ MiMi DuBose, who is averaging 10.9 points a contest, enters the game tied for first in all-time 3-pointers (167) at Georgia Southern with Svetlana Trjeskal (1995-99). DuBose scored 16 points at Chattanooga Jan. 4 to top the 1,000-point mark for her career. She played in her 100th career contest vs. Davidson Jan. 18.
¦ Senior Lacie Dowling averages 8.3 points a game, and sophomore Briana Jones is averaging 7.9 points and 8.1 rebounds and has four double-doubles this season.
¦ Senior Danielle Spencer is leading the SoCon in rebounding with 8.9 a game and is 17 boards shy of becoming the 18th Eagle in school history to top the 500 mark for her career.
¦ Appalachian State is 4-2 in its last six games and coming off a 74-66 home win over Davidson Saturday afternoon.
¦ The Mountaineers are 3-3 at home and 2-2 in home league games.
¦ Maryah Sydnor leads the league in scoring at 21.2 points a game and also averages 8.6 rebounds a contest.
¦ The junior SoCon Player of the Year candidate is coming off a 36-point, 15-rebound performance against Davidson.
¦ KeKe Cooper averages 9.7 points and 8.4 rebounds while shooting 59 percent from the field.

¦ Georgia Southern leads the all-time series 33-17 but has lost the last four as the Mountaineers swept the season series in each of the last two seasons.
¦ The Eagles are 16-6 against the Mountaineers on the road and 9-4 in the Holmes Center. Georgia Southern has lost the last two meetings in the Holmes Center.
¦ Last meeting (2/4/13): Anna Freeman scored 18 points, and Appalachian State recorded 16 steals and forced 24 Georgia Southern turnovers to post a 67-54 win over the Eagles in Hanner Fieldhouse.
¦ Meredyth Frye tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead Georgia Southern, and Danielle Spencer collected 11 points and seven rebounds. Alexis Sams scored a career high 16 points, and Anna Claire Knight finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
¦ Freeman was 8-of-15 from the floor and grabbed six rebounds for Appalachian State, while Courtney Freeman had 15 points and six rebounds, and Maryah Sydnor finished with 13 points and eight boards. Kelsey Sharkey collected seven points, 11 rebounds and seven steals off the bench.
¦ GSU's turnover total was three off its season high, and 14 came in the first half to help the Mountaineers build a 12-point halftime lead. ASU turned the ball over in the second frame, committing 19 miscues, but held the Eagles to 33 percent shooting from the floor in the period.
¦ Last meeting in Holmes (12/4/13): Appalachian State's Courtney Freeman scored a game-high 24 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career and lead the Mountaineers to a 79-47 win over Georgia Southern.
¦ Spencer led the Eagles (1-4, 0-2 SoCon) with nine points to go along with four rebounds, while Knight and MiMi DuBose each scored eight.
¦ Freeman added nine rebounds and made 10-of-10 from the free-throw line, scoring 18 points in the second half. Sydnor posted 19 points and six rebounds, while Anna Freeman tallied 14 points, six boards and four assists. ASU made a living at the charity stripe, knocking down 22-of-23 in the game.
¦ The Eagles were 1-of-21 from 3-point range in the game and committed 24 turnovers. Georgia Southern shot 42 percent in the second half but fell behind 29-14 at halftime after shooting 20.7 percent in the first frame.
¦ Georgia Southern held Appalachian State to 36.7 percent shooting in the half but could only cash in on 6-of-29 on the offensive end.

¦ Danielle Spencer has two double-doubles this season. The senior had 12 points and 12 rebounds against Jacksonville State (11/16) and 12 points and 17 rebounds at Jacksonville (11/24).
¦ Spencer notched her 400th career rebound at Mercer (12/4) and played in her 100th career game at Chattanooga (1/4).
¦ Lacie Dowling tied the school record with eight 3-pointers against Detroit (11/30) and scored a career-high 26 points in the game. She shares the record with Allie Rousseau, who notched eight triples vs. Appalachian State Feb. 8, 2000. The performance helped Dowling earn all-tournament honors at the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament.
¦ Dowling has played in every game this season and started the last 17. She tallied a career-high seven assists at Western Carolina Jan. 25.
¦ Anna Claire Knight is 187 points away from 1,000 and 51 rebounds away from 400 for her career. The junior has two career double-doubles and has started the last 33 contests.
¦ Sophomore Briana Jones, who sat out last season after transferring from James Madison, has four double-doubles in her first campaign playing for the Eagles. She has started every game.
¦ Senior Jordi Cook played in her 100th career game at Western Carolina Jan. 25. She was one of three Eagles to play in all 31 games in 2012-13.
¦ Sierra Kirkland scored a career high 11 points at Chattanooga (1/4). The sophomore has played in every game in her career.
¦ MiMi DuBose has played in 83 straight games and made 79 consecutive starts.
¦ The Eagles' 79 points against Detroit (11/30) are the most they have scored since posting 80 in an 87-80 home setback to Chattanooga Dec. 4, 2010. GSU's 11 triples in the contest are the most since hitting 11 against Davidson Jan. 8, 2010. The Eagles also scored 79 points against Wofford (12/16).
¦ The Eagles improved to 29-9 in home openers with their 63-50 win over Jacksonville State Nov. 16.
¦ For the first time in four seasons, Georgia Southern opened conference play at home.
¦ Since the 2010-11 season, Georgia Southern has five losses by one point and 14 losses by five points or less.
¦ Georgia Southern dropped to 23-18 in season openers after falling to Auburn 69-59 Nov. 9.
¦ With their loss at No. 7 Kentucky Nov. 13, the Eagles fell to 0-14 against ranked opponents since the 2000-01 season.
