STATESBORO, Ga. - The 2014 Georgia Southern baseball signing class was named by Collegiate Baseball as one of the top signing classes in the nation.
The Eagles were one of three Southern Conference schools included in Collegiate Baseball's list of top signing classes. Joining GSU were Samford and Appalachian State. Florida was tabbed as having the nation's top signing class with Mississippi State, Florida State, Miami and Oklahoma State rounding out the top-5.
Head Coach Rodney Hennon and his staff brought in a 21-member signing class that includes 14 true freshmen and seven transfers. These new members of the Georgia Southern baseball team will compete for the Eagles this spring.
"This is a quality group of young men that will be able to contribute greatly to our program in the coming years," Hennon said about his 2014 signing class. "We are confident that we have addressed our most immediate needs. Our staff worked very hard to identify these student-athletes and build relationships with these young men. In particular, I would like to commend Coach Green and Coach Moore for their tireless work in completing this signing class."
The 2014 signing class includes Kody Adams, Dalton Busby, Cal Baker, Josh Black, C.J. Brazil, Garrett Chapman, Ryan Cleveland, Avery Fagan, Ryan Frederick, Jordan Howard, Will Jackson, Adam Kelly, Aaron Mizell, Aaron Palmer, Tyler Payne, Caleb Pressey, Tripp Shepperd, Patrick Riley, Patrick Smith, Byron Yelverton and Josh Wirsu.
