Georgia Southern (10-12, 4-6) – Coach: Amy Bonner
Last Season: The Georgia Southern women's tennis team finished 2012-13 with a 10-12, 4-6 record. The Eagles won four of their last six matches to finish the year and posted wins over Bethune-Cookman, Samford, Western Carolina and Wofford. Jordana Klein led the team with a 13-9 dual-match record and went 6-4 in SoCon play. The doubles team of Natalie Maffett and Stephanie Woods led the squad in doubles action with a 8-6, 3-4 record.
2012 Kennesaw State Fall Classic Recap: Georgia Southern's Paola Garrido won the Black draw singles and paired with Stephanie Woods to win the Black draw doubles a year ago. Garrido defeated Kennesaw State's Alex Apostu 6-4, 6-1 in the East flight championship. Garrido and Woods reached the finals with a 8-4 win over Western Carolina's Stacia Kissell and Sara Ruiz and defeated the Owls' Hueckinghaus and Tamara Plocher with a 8-5 decision to win the Black draw. In singles play, Woods won the Gold draw with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Kennesaw State's Tess Lagerkvist.
Student-Athlete Spotlight: Jordana Klein
Jordana Klein joined the Eagles from Murray State last year and led the team with a 13-9, 6-4 singles mark. Klein played all 22 matches at the number two position and finished the 2013 season with seven wins in her last 10 matches. Klein partnered with Alexis Pricket, Natalie Maffett and Caitlin Kitchen in doubles play.
