Eagles Open the SoCon Tournament as the Seven Seed

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern will open the 2013 Southern Conference Tournament at Fluor Field in Greensville, S.C. as the #7 seed as announced by the Southern Conference office.
The Eagles will face College of Charleston for the fourth time in seven days on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.. The Cougars enter as the #2 seed after sweeping GSU over the weekend. The Cougars finished with an 18-11 SoCon record.
Western Carolina locked in the regular season title before the weekend and will be the #1 seed in the SoCon Tournament. Elon is the three seed, and The Citadel is the fourth seed. Appalachian State, Furman and Samford round out the tournament field.
The Citadel and Appalachian State will open tournament play at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Western Carolina and Samford will follow at 1:30 p.m., and Elon and Furman will take the field before the Eagles at 5 p.m.
