SoCon Releases Tournament Mobile App and Announces Friday Night Hoopla Party

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Southern Conference has announced the release of its 2013 SoCon Tournament Mobile App and the 2013 SoCon Alumni Hoopla Party on Friday night, March 8th in Asheville.
The Hoopla Party will be held at Magnolia’s at 26 East Walnut Street in Asheville. The headlining band is the Vinyl Brothers Big Band and all proceeds will go to each league school’s alumni association.
The tournament mobile app is available for download through either the Apple Itunes Store or Google Play, contains tournament and school information and information about local establishments, hotels, and activities in Asheville as well as championship schedule, results, downtown maps and parking information. The app is free to download by searching either “Southern Conference” or “SoCon.”
The Eagle men’s basketball team begins play in the 2013 Southern Conference Tournament on Friday morning, March 8th, at 11:30 a.m. against Wofford at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville. Georgia Southern Women’s Basketball faces Western Carolina in their tournament opener on Friday at 11:30 a.m. inside UNC Asheville’s Kimmel Arena. Tickets for the tournament can be purchased by contacting the Georgia Southern Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-GSU-WINS.
