Dowd Nike Cup and Wingate Fall Frenzy Meet Results

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Georgia Southern swimming and diving is in North Carolina this weekend representing the Eagles. The divers competed in the Dowd Nike Cup on Thursday and Friday, and the swimmers are heading into day two of the Wingate Fall Frenzy.
On day one of the Dowd Nike Cup at UNC, GSU diver Sara Meisenhelder finished on top for the Eagles, securing 11th place on the 1-meter, scoring 231.95 in the preliminaries and 239.25 in the finals. Amanda Macchio came in 14th, followed by Emma Weisel in 15th and Brittany Swanson in 17th.
On the second and final day of the Cup, Sara Meisenhelder remained the top finisher for the Eagles in 8th place in the A-Final. Meisenhelder scored 251.50 in the preliminaries on Friday and 251.75 in the finals. Amanda Macchio took 16th in the B-Finals, with scores of 222.65 and 213.05. Emma Weisel placed 18th and Brittany Swanson placed 19th.
The swimmers finished up day one of the Wingate Fall Frenzy on Friday, November 22. In the third event of the day, the 500 Free, Amber Juncker took 5th in the A-finals, finishing in 5:06.04 in the preliminaries and 5:05.68 in the finals. Kylee Parsons finished 12th in the B-Finals, with times of 5:16.74 and 5:11.47. Eagles Hannah Rogers and Rikki Babuka took 19th and 23rd in the C-Finals.
In the 200 I.M., Eagles Rebecca Alves and Lauren Campbell placed 12th and 13th in the B-Finals, while Allyn Case took 24th in the C-Final.
In the 50 Free, the Eagles had swimmers in the A, B, and C-Finals. Elaina Lanson finished in 23.90 placing 3rd, Christina Moran took 10th with 24.56, and Devan White placed 19th with 24.75.
Eagles Christina Moran, Megan Ostrom, Megan Heller, and Elaina Lanson were able to secure 6th place in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:56.52. Lauren Campbell, Allyn Case, Sarah Schwartz, and Devan White took 12th place with 4:02.08.
Georgia Southern's Christina Moran, Megan Heller, Devan White, Elaina Lanson finished in 1:40.36 to take 9th in the 200 Free Relay.
The Eagles head into day two of the Wingate Fall Frenzy on Saturday, November 23rd.
