Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern redshirt freshman quarterback Kevin Ellison was selected as the Southern Conference's Offensive Player of the Week Monday after leading the Eagles to a 38-20 victory over Elon last weekend. Ellison had a career-best 163 yards rushing and averaged 11.6 yards per carry. He also threw for 104 yards for his second career game with 100 yards in each category.

Ellison ripped off rushes of 56 yards, a career-best, and a 53-yard gain for the Eagles' first touchdown of the game. The Cornelia, Ga., native also ran for a 14-yard touchdown to extend Georgia Southern's lead to 31-6 in the second half. He connected with four different receivers with three of his five completions going for more than 25 yards.

This is the first SoCon Offensive Player of the Week honor for Ellison. He was named the SoCon Freshman of the Week once in September and once in October.
