Former Eagle Among Top-10 White Sox Prospects

STATESBORO, Ga. - Former Georgia Southern Eagle Chris Beck was selected as one of the Chicago White Sox's top-10 prospects by Baseball America in their 2013 Prospect Handbook due out in January.
Beck, a second round selection of the White Sox, went 17-16 with a 4.18 ERA during his three-year career with the Eagles. Beck tallied 39 career starts in 49 appearances and struck out over 100 batters in each of his final two seasons on the diamond. The Jefferson, Ga., native was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2011 Southern Conference Tournament after tossing a complete game shutout in the conference tournament championship game.
Beck, who was selected as the No. 10 prospect in the White Sox's system by Baseball America, went 4-3 with a 4.69 ERA in 15 appearances for the Rookie Pioneer League Great Falls Voyagers after being drafted in June. He will begin his first full professional season in 2013.
