STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Baseball team has partnered with Rawlings for the 2012 season and will join a number of top college teams, including back-to-back national champions South Carolina, to swing their BBCOR product.
"We are excited about joining Rawlings and jumping on board their team," said Head Coach Rodney Hennon. "They have been a leader in the baseball industry for years."
The new product deal will help provide the Eagle Baseball program with bats, gloves, helmets, catching gear and batting gloves. The apparel including game uniforms and the hat will still be provided by Nike and The Game respectively.
"Rawlings has always had a reputation for making the premier baseball gloves on the market. They have also developed what I believe is the best BBCOR bat used in college baseball. Our players have had a chance to hit with the bats this fall and they are very excited about how the bat feels and performs. This partnership with Rawlings will give our players access to the very best baseball equipment available. We are very fortunate that Rawlings has invited us to join their team and we are looking forward to our future together." said Hennon.
The Georgia Southern Baseball team is currently using a small number of Rawlings bats in their fall practice sessions and expects the full shipment of gear to come in before the 2012 season this spring.
