Brewers Pick Andy Moye in 15th Round After Fine Senior Year

SECAUCUS, N.J. - Senior pitcher Andy Moye cashed in on a fine senior season and was drafted in the 15th round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. Moye, a 50th round selection of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2010, was the 461st pick overall and improved 35 rounds over his last year's selection.
The Alpharetta, Ga., native went 7-2 with a 2.39 ERA enroute to All-Southern Conference honors for the first time in his career at GSU. He made 12 starts on the mound and tossed two complete games in 79 innings. Moye holds career marks of 23-12 with a 5.37 ERA and 244 strikeouts in over 284 innings of work.
The senior captain is the second Eagle selected on day two of the draft. Matt Murray (Spring City, Pa.) was taken in the 10th round by the Kansas City Royals. Having two Eagles selected in the first 15 rounds of the MLB Draft is a first for the Eagles since 2006 when two players were taken in the first 15 rounds and three in the first 20.
The draft continues today with rounds 2-30 and wraps up tomorrow, June 8th, with rounds 31-50. The draft starts at noon and runs until the scheduled rounds are completed.
