Former Eagle Teaford Makes Major League Debut

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Former Eagle pitcher Everett Teaford made his major league debut Tuesday night for the Kansas City Royals. The Georgia Southern baseball alumnus was the first call out of the bullpen for the Royals and pitched an inning and a third.
Teaford retired the side in order in the sixth inning, coming on in relief of starter Sean O'Sullivan. He ran into some trouble in the seventh inning, allowing a run on two hits.
The Alpharetta, Ga. native is the only current Eagle in the big leagues and the first to make his debut since Denis Dove was called up to the St. Louis Cardinals in April 2007. The last Eagle to play in a major league game before Teaford's first appearance on May 17th was Brian Rogers, who appeared in his final game with the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 26, 2007.
