Former Eagles Combine for Six No-Hit Innings in Minor League One-Hitter

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Two former Georgia Southern pitchers combined for six no-hit innings in Burlington Bees 4-0 victory over Quad City River Bandits on Sunday, April 17th. The contest between the two Class-A Midwest League squads went seven innings.
Jake Brown started the game and allowed only one base runner and a hit batsmen in five no-hit innings to earn his second win of the season. Chris Mederos was the first option out of the bullpen and tacked on a hitless sixth inning before Daniel Tenholder allowed the only River Bandit hit in the seventh inning.
Brown and Mederos both pitched in the same rotation on the 2009 Southern Conference Tournament Championship squad. Brown, who is starting in the minor leagues for the first time this season, is off to a strong start. He is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in two starts and has 10 strikeouts to only two walks. Mederos moved to the bullpen this season and is 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA in four appearances. The Valdosta, Ga. native has allowed only one walk to nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings for the Bees.
