Victor Roache Named SoCon and National Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference selected sophomore outfielder Victor Roache as the Southern Conference's Player of the Week for the second time this season. Roache homered in all five games last week and helped the Eagles to a conference series victory over Western Carolina.
The Ypsilanti, Mich., native hit .563 (9-for-16) with a double, five home runs and 13 RBIs in five starts last week. Roache slugged 1.563 and scored nine runs while walking six times. He also played errorless ball in the outfield.
Roache joins pitchers Ryan Arrowood of Appalachian State and Logan Cribb of The Citadel as the SoCon's weekly honorees. He was also selected National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball on Monday and awaits the selection of other national honors which are announced later in the week.
The Eagles return to action this weekend in a Southern Conference series against Elon at J.I. Clements Stadium. Georgia Southern honors our nation's miltary personnel with Military Appreciation Weekend. The series opens Friday at 7 p.m. and continues on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
