Georgia Southern Honors Jack Stallings at Saturday's Baseball Game

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern will honor former Eagle Head Baseball Coach Jack Stallings during the baseball game against Furman on Saturday, March 12th. Admission for the game will be $1 in honor of Stallings' retired number #1 uniform he wore in his 24 years as the skipper for the Eagles.
Coach Stallings will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game gets underway at 2:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to enter the gates will receive a mini-poster that includes highlights of his career at Georgia Southern.
Stallings coached for 24 of his 39 seasons at Georgia Southern and is the 18th-winningest coach in college baseball history. A 2004 inductee of the Georgia Southern Athletics Hall of Fame, he compiled an 858-581-5 record with the Eagles and led them to the College World Series in 1990 as well as four other NCAA appearances. When J.I. Clements Stadium was rededicated in 2005, the playing field was named in honor of Stallings.
