Roache Named a First Team All-American by NCBWA

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Eagle slugger Victor Roache garnered First Team Preseason All-American honors by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association after leading the NCAA in home runs with 30 a year ago. The junior outfielder was tabbed earlier in the preseason as one of the top-10 draft prospects by MLB.com.

Roache hit .326 with 84 RBIs to go along with his 30 dingers. Joining the Ypsilanti, Mich., native on the preseason All-America list from the Southern Conference was Daniel Aldrich from the College of Charleston.

The two squads will meet for a three-game series at J.I. Clements Stadium on March 30th - April 1st. The season and home opener for the Eagles is set for February 17th at 6 p.m. Tickets for the 2012 baseball season will go on sale in mid-January the Georgia Southern Athletic Ticket Office.
