Softball Among Top-25 NFCA All-Academic Teams

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced their annual 2008-2009 Girls Got Game All-Academic team ranking, and the Eagles placed 22nd with a 3.35 GPA.
Softball also had 10 players named a NFCA Scholar-Athlete. Members of the 2009 squad receiving the honor include Kelly Burnett (Boynton Beach, Fla.), Bethany Crenshaw (Warner Robins, Ga.), Amanda Glover (Evans, Ga.), Kristan Glover (Evans, Ga.), Amanda Hall (Haddock, Ga.), Nina Iduate (Norcross, Ga.), Jordyn Nail (Swainsboro, Ga.), Stephanie Peet (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and Sam Russo (Snellville, Ga.).
The Eagles finished the 2009 season with a 29-25 record and made their fourth straight SoCon Championship Game appearance.
Softball continues preparation for the 2010 season and will host the Georgia Southern Fall Classic Saturday. The Eagles will face Middle Georgia at 11 a.m. and SCAD at 3 p.m. Other team participating in the classic include South Georgia and Armstrong Atlantic.
