Baseball Preview Show to Air on Wednesday

STATESBORO, Ga. ? The Georgia Southern Radio Network will present the ?2009 Georgia Southern Baseball Preview Show' this Wednesday night (Feb. 11). The hour-long show will air live from Locos Grill and Pub, starting at 7 p.m. Fans are invited to attend.
Baseball ?play-by-play' voice Ryan Chambers and head coach Rodney Hennon will look ahead to what should be another exciting season on the diamond. Players and members of the coaching staff will also join Chambers at the microphone. The show will be carried live on Eagle 102.9 FM or via the internet for free at www.GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com.
The Eagles are coming off an offensive record-setting 33-25 season, the eighth straight year the Hennon-coached Eagles won 30 or more games. Junior third baseman A.J. Wirnsberger (Tuscaloosa, AL/Paul W. Bryant), senior catcher Griffin Benedict (Dunwoody/St. Pius) and senior outfielder Ty Wright (Montrose/ABAC) all earned Preseason All-America honors heading into the 2009 campaign.
Georgia Southern opens the season on Friday, February 20th against Presbyterian at 7 p.m. The three-game series will take place at J.I. Clements Stadium. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 800-GSU-WINS.
