Scholar-Athlete Signs with Women?s Tennis

STATESBORO, GA – Head coach Amy Bonner announced the signing of Caitlin Kitchen to a National Letter of Intent. Kitchen, a senior at Kennesaw Mountain High School, will join the Georgia Southern women's tennis roster beginning in the 2010-2011 season.
“I'm very excited about having Caitlin join our team because not only is she a great player, but she is a great scholar-athlete,” said Bonner. “She will fit in great with the team as far as what kind of person she is.”
Kitchen has appeared in the “Top 10” USTA Junior Rankings in the state of Georgia and is a Scholar-Athlete at Kennesaw Mountain High School, boasting a 4.15 GPA. As team captain her junior season, she was named Team MVP after going 14-3 on the season. Kitchen was named All-County 2T and held the highest GPA on the team. The previous season as a sophomore, Kitchen went 21-1 and was selected All County Honorable Mention. As a freshman in 2007, Kitchen posted an astounding 17-4 overall record and was named Team MVP.
She has trained for over 10 years at the Universal Tennis Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.
