Felt Reaches Finals of Crimson Tide Fall Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Freshman Sebastien Felt made an appearance in the 'D' draw consolation final on the second day of the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational. The Eagle uprooted two opponents en route to the championship match.
In the 'D' back draw, Felt (Vienna, Austria) appeared in the final after upending Bellman in straight sets. The Eagle controlled Jacksonville State's Thomas Bellman in the opening set, 6-1, but Bellman challenged Felt in the second set. Keeping the match close, Felt downed Bellman, 7-5 to earn a spot in the championship facing Spencer Heflin of Memphis. Heflin took the crown defeating Felt in straight 6-3 sets.
In doubles action, Justin Flynn (Dublin, Ireland) and Juan Melian-Puigventos (Las Palmos de Gran Canaria, Spain) paired up to challenge Alex Emery and Danny Manlow of UAB. The Blazer pair advanced to the quarterfinals round with an 8-3 decision over the Eagle tandem. Suffering a decision by the same margin were Eagles Felt and Mark Paetz (Munich, Germany). The tandem teamed up against Vanderbilt's Scott Lieberman and Andy Puildo. The Commodores recorded the victory, 8-3.
The Eagles concluded their fall tournament schedule at the Crimson Tide Invitational. Georgia Southern returns to the court opening regular-season play at Georgia Tech, January 17 at 2 p.m.
