USF Takes 6-1 Win Over Men's Tennis

Georgia Southern returns home to Wallis to take on Kennesaw State on Friday
TAMPA, Fla. - USF men's tennis picked up a 6-1 win over visiting Georgia Southern on Sunday afternoon at the USF Varsity Tennis Complex in Tampa.
The Bulls improve to 2-6 on the season with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 3-2. The Eagles return to action on Friday, February 20, hosting Kennesaw State for a 1 p.m. contest at the Wallis Tennis Center.
USF claimed the doubles point with wins at the top two doubles matches. Matthew Mitchell and Edoardo Santoni held a 5-2 lead at No. 3 doubles when play was stopped after the doubles point clinched.
In singles, the Bulls clinched the victory with four straight-set singles wins. Edoardo Santoni earned the Eagles a point at No. 3 singles with a 7-6 (5), 5-7, (10-7) win at No. 3 singles, while Willy Mirarchi pushed his opponent to three sets at No. 4 singles.
