Men's Basketball takes on Western Carolina Monday

STATESBORO, Ga. --- The Eagles continue their grueling stretch of four games in eight days with a road game at Western Carolina Monday night.
After Monday Georgia Southern heads back out on the road to Southern Conference North leader Chattanooga.
“I thought we were still smarting a little bit from Thursday's loss when we played on Saturday,” said head coach Jeff Price. “It's hard to get over something like that but hopefully after this win we've gotten past that and we've got confidence again.”
Georgia Southern (13-7, 6-4) overcame a sluggish first half and used a solid defensive performance to overcome Furman Saturday night. GSU held the Paladins to 20.7 percent shooting in the first half and 32.7 percent for the game. While on the offensive end increasing their output from 20 points in the opening half to 42 in the final 20 minutes.
“We just became a lot more efficient offensively and finally started making some shots,” said Price. “Our defense held up and allowed us to build a lead.”
Senior Louis Graham enjoyed one of his best all-around games in some time with 14 points and 13 rebounds with four blocks and four steals. His 13 rebounds and four steals tied a season high and the four blocks were his most since swatting a school-record six on Nov. 18.
With seven points, Graham will move into 10th place on GSU's all-time scoring list. He will pass Richard Wallace at 1,351 points.
Western Carolina (6-13, 2-7) is coming off an 83-73 loss at Wofford Saturday. The offense is led by Brandon Giles who averages a team-best 14.6 points per game. The sophomore shoots 43.0 percent from 3-point land.
“(They) shoot the ball really well,” Price said. “It's kind of similar to the last few league games we've played. We're playing a team that really shoots the ball well from the perimeter, they've got some experience and they're always a dangerous team on their floor.”
Defensively the Catamounts are paced by Brigham Waginger who tops the SoCon charts in steals (2.33 spg). He has 14 thefts in the past three games, including seven (with seven assists) on Jan. 24 against Elon.
