First team captain in the modern era of Georgia Southern football... he was also the first player to earn a football scholarship... led the team in interceptions with six and was fourth in tackles with 48... leader of the "Gnat Pack"... the Eagles' top punt returner with 20 returns for 177 yards... wore number 9... later joined the coaching staff and served as the secondary coach for three years, including the National Championship season of 1985.
