ATLANTA, Ga. - The Georgia Southern swimming and diving team (1-3) completed the Georgia Tech Quad Meet with a 147-141 win over Florida Atlantic.
The Relays saw two top-10 finishes. Lindsay Goodman (Knoxville, Tenn.), Ashley White (Charlotte, N.C.), Kristen Haudenschild (Woodbridge, Va.) and Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) finished 6th in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:50.03. The Georgia Southern 400 Free Relay team of Emily Fell (Brunswick, Ga.), Jordyn Pasley (Knoxville,Ga.), Bevillard and Campbell finished seventh with a time of 3:37.72.
Ali Campbell (Ft. McMurray, Alberta) had 3 top-10 finishes on the day. Campbell was a member of the seventh place 400 Free Relay team and finished sixth in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:38.64. Campbell finished 13th in the 200 Free with a time of 1:57.40.
Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.) finished 16th in the 200 Free with a time of 1:59.19. Bevillard also finished seventh in the 500 Free with a time of 5:12.48.
Freshmen Pirie Humphries (Athens, Ga.) (10:55.69) and Lindsay Mullican (Lancaster, Pa.) (10:58.68) finished 13th and 14th in the 1000 Free respectively.
Martz opened the season in the 100 Back just three seconds behind her top time from a year ago. She finished seventh with a time of 1:00.42. Goodman finished three places behind Martz with a time of 1:01.71.
Senior White came within a couple of seconds of her top time from last season in the 100 Breast. White finished eighth with a time of 108:20.
Senior Lauren Parr (Canton, Ohio) finished 12th in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:12.44 and ninth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.46.
The 200 Breast saw Parr (2:32.46) and White (2:33.29) finish back-to-back in 11th and 12th place respectively.
The Eagles got strong performances in the 50 Free. Martz finished 9th with a time of 24.56, and Laurie Stephens (Atlanta, Ga) came in 12th with a mark of 25.36. Both came close to their top times from last season.
Bevillard finished 10th in the 100 Free with a mark of 54.02. Freshman Fell placed 13th with a time of 54.55.
Goodman recorded a top-10 finish in the 200 Back (2:13.32).
Caitlin Martin (Lilburn, Ga.) recorded a top-10 finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.67.
The Eagles return to action October 24th in a tri-meet at the College of Charleston.
