2013 Second Team All-SoCon Doubles

SENIOR (2015-16): Went 12-4 in dual singles action and 13-9 overall…played primarily at the No.6 spot…carried a 5-5 doubles record at line three and a 9-11 season record…lost to Luisa Ferrauti of Troy in the Sun Belt Tournament (Apr. 22) but won in straight sets a week earlier 6-4, 6-4…swept Savannah State 6-0, 6-0 on Senior Day (Apr. 3)…clinched the first conference team win of the year against ULM (Apr. 2)…boasted a team-high eight-match winning streak in the beginning of the season that lasted from Jan. 26 through Mar. 1…won one in six singles matches during the fall season and four in eight of the doubles matches…defeated Cummer and Centenari (Davidson) 8-6 with partner Francisca Norregaard in the doubles draw at the Kitty Harrison Invitational (Nov. 6-8)…represented the Eagles at the ITA Regionals (Oct. 23-25) but couldn’t sneak past the qualifying rounds, dropping 7-6, 6-3…swept Jennyfer Vivas (SSU) 6-1, 6-0 at the Georgia Southern Invitational (Oct. 2)…also triumphed over Julia Albuquerque and Karina Rovira (SCAD) 8-1 with partner and fellow senior Norregaard…won both doubles matches at the Elon Tournament (Sept. 11-12) with partner Paige Christian

JUNIOR (2014-15): Won almost half of her matches in the No. 2 position (6 of 13)...had an even split of wins and losses of 20 matches with doubles partner Anne Kurzweil at the No.1 spot...competed in 26 matches over the season...took seventh place at the Georgia Southeern Fall Invitational after beating Nuttall of Presbyterian 6-3, 6-0...dominated against Arkansas State at the No.1 doubles spot to gain an 8-3 advantage...helped the team top Troy by winning 2-6, 6-4, 6-1...snagged a win in the last home event of the season against University of South Carolina Upstate...ended the season at the Sun Belt Tournament with a loss to UL Monroe (4-6, 3-6)

SOPHOMORE (2013-14):  Saw action in 20 of the Eagles 21 matches, primarily at the No. 6 position.  Went 12-8 on the year and 4-4 in the SoCon.  Won 4 of her last 4 matches of the year over Tamara HIll of Davidson 6-4, 6-1, Caroline Harpaintner of Akron 6-2, 6-0, Sarah Vande Verg of USC Upstate 6-4, 6-2, and Mareli Sanchez of Wofford 2-6, 6-4, 10-6. In doubles, she partner with Jordana Klein and 3 matches in a row over a tandem from Davidson 8-2, Akron 8-3, and USC Upstate 8-1.

FRESHMAN (2013): Spring - Graduated high school early and joined the Eagles in the spring...Established a 10-12 singles record and went 5-5 in conference play...Mainly played at the No. 4 position but also appeared at No. 3...Earned her first collegiate victory against Mercer's Natalie Franklin on Feb. 10 while also clinching the match...Earned a crucial victory over Wofford's Guinn Garcia in the SoCon Tournament first round on April 18...Named Second Team All-SoCon Doubles with Paola Garrido after a 3-3 conference record at the No. 1 position (6-5 overall)...Went 8-8 in doubles overall while playing at every position with four different partners...Clinched the doubles point with Garrido in the first round of the SoCon Tournament by defeating Wofford's Sarah Evans and Othilia Lindqvist.

PREP: Graduated early and Summa Cum Laude from Leon High…Earned three varsity letters in tennis for Coach Kevin Record…Part of state champion teams in 2010 and 2011…State doubles champion and number one spot singles runner-up as a junior…Voted All-Big Bend Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior…A 4-star recruit according to tennisrecruiting.net.

PERSONAL: Born Feb. 10 1995 in Logansport, Indiana…Daughter of Craig and Molly Smith…Has three siblings: Payson (19), Jake (15) and Sallie (12)…Brother Payson plays baseball at Georgia…Her parents have the biggest influence on her life because “they lead me in the right direction”…Favorite athletes are Roger Federer and Andy Roddick…Majoring in Business.
