Alex Meltzer

Alex Meltzer begins his third season as the Georgia Southern men’s basketball director of operations and his ninth with the program. He served as the team's graduate assistant from 2015-17 before being elevated to his current position.

Meltzer handles a variety of administrative responsibilities within the day-to-day operations of the program, including the coordination of team travel, budgeting, community team activities and equipment. In addition, he serves as the team's video coordinator with responsibilities that include film breakdown, coordinating film exchange, creating team highlight videos and recruiting tools, advance scouting of opponents and helping the student-athletes with individual film needs.

In addition, his responsibilities include supervising the managers, assisting the coaching staff in limited on-court activities during practice and on-campus recruiting. He also oversees the planning, promotion and execution of the Georgia Southern Basketball Summer Camps.

Prior to becoming the team's graduate assistant, he served as a student manager for four seasons, earning the title of head student manager prior to his senior year. Meltzer graduated magna cum laude with a degree in sport management with minors in business, marketing and management in May of 2015 from Georgia Southern and completed his master’s degree in business administration in December of 2016.

Meltzer lives in Statesboro, Ga., with his wife, Lindsay, and their dog, Hanner.
