JUNIOR (2020): Appeared in two games this season… Pitched 3.0 innings of work allowing one hit and striking out four batters.

SOPHOMORE (2019): Appeared in five games with three starts...Had a 0-1 record on the year...Pitched 3.0 innings with a season-high, two strikeouts in a 7-4 win over Charleston Southern. 

FRESHMAN (2018)(at East Georgia): Went 10-2 with 77 strikeouts and a 2.94 ERA at East Georgia… Named First Team All-Conference.

PREP: Played four years for coach Chad Harper at Emanuel County Institute… Named First Team All-Region as a sophomore, junior and senior, also added Region Pitcher of the Year as a senior… Selected as First Team All-State as a junior and a senior… With 7-2 as a starter as a senior with 96 strikeouts and an 0.87 ERA. Also played football, earning All-State honors as a junior and senior, and two-time Region Offensive Player of the Year.

PERSONAL: Born Rhett Clifford Gay on August 11, 1998 in Twin City, Ga. … Son of Cliff and Judy Gay… Has two older siblings, Janna Tucker and Rebecca McNeely… Both parents attended Georgia Southern.

MAJOR: Accounting
