
Eagles Place Three on All-Sun Belt Teams

Davis named first team
STATESBORO – Following the end of the regular season, the Sun Belt Conference announced its 2026 All-Conference teams on Tuesday, May 5, with Georgia Southern's Emma Davis earning First Team honors, and Valerie Combs and Kayla Christensen receiving honorable mentions.
Davis was one of three outfielders selected to the All-Sun Belt First Team after a dominant showing in conference play.
The senior hit .426 (29-for-68) against league opponents, adding 12 runs scored, eight doubles, and 16 RBI while posting a .544 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
She ranks among the conference leaders in multiple categories, sitting No. 1 in batting average, No. 2 in hits, tied for second in doubles and No. 3 in on-base percentage. Her consistent ability to get on base and drive in runs has made her a centerpiece of the Eagles' offense throughout Sun Belt play.
Junior catcher Combs and sophomore second baseman Christensen made the All-Sun Belt Honorable Mentions.
Combs hit .258 (17-for-66), recording six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI, delivering key run production throughout conference action. Defensively, Combs anchored the Eagles' pitching staff, totaling 59 putouts on 77 chances while throwing out seven baserunners from the backstop.
Serving as the Eagles' leadoff hitter, Christensen recorded 18 hits in 73 at-bats (.247), scoring 12 runs while posting a .329 on-base percentage and adding two stolen bases. Her ability to get on base and set the tone offensively played a key role in the lineup's success.
Defensively, Christensen was a reliable force at second base, totaling 54 putouts and 60 assists across 116 chances while helping turn seven double plays.
