
Eagles Set for Gators Invitational

STATESBORO – Georgia Southern women's golf returns to the course this weekend, taking part in the Gators Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida, hosted by the University of Florida, Mar. 6-8. The Eagles enter the weekend fresh off their first match play event against Furman at Ohoopee Match Club.
The par 70 course is set to play 6,002 total yards, with the first two days featuring traditional tournament starts, while Sunday's final round with begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. The 2026 edition of the Gators Invitational will be the 54th occurrence of the tournament, an event that began in 1973.
The field will consist of host No. 7 Florida, Campbell, Clemson, FAU, Florida Gulf Coast, FIU, Georgia Southern, Miami, Michigan, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 25 Oklahoma, South Alabama, USF, and Virginia.

Margaux Brejo claimed a full point for the Eagles in that match, defeating Olivia Hasselbach 5&4, before Haven Ward leveled the match at 1.5 points a side with a half point against Audrey Ryu.
- Junior Haven Ward has her eyes set on another successful tournament, after posting back-to-back rounds under par in Puerto Rico. During the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, Ward led the Eagles on the course, posting a 3-over performance (71-70-78=219), while the Eagles shot a team best 28-over tally (294-293-302=889).
- Friday's first round in Gainesville, Florida, will be the 54th occurrence of the Gators Invitational, an event that began in 1973. The University of Florida has claimed 27 team titles in the event, the only program to secure more than three titles in the tournament's history.
- Freshman Margaux Brejo enters her third event of the spring this weekend, holding 94.4% rounds counted rate. Brejo has had her rounds tallied in 17-of-18 total tournament rounds.
