
Georgia Southern Women's Golf Falls to Furman in Match Play

COBBTOWN, Ga. – Georgia Southern women's golf fell to Furman on Saturday morning, 3.5-1.5 at the Ohoopee Match Club in Cobbtown, Ga.
Freshman Margaux Brejo earned a full point for the Eagles on Saturday, defeating Olivia Hasselbach 5&4. Brejo held a 2-up advantage on Hasselbach before earning victories on the 11th and 12th holes. The Fontainebleau, France, native closed out her match with a win on the 14th hole to give Georgia Southern a 1-0 lead.
The Paladins' Jenna Madden leveled the match in the No. 2 spot, defeating Maddy Pytura 5&4, 1-1. Haven Ward held an early advantage on the third hole, before Audrey Ryu stormed back with back-to-back wins on the eighth and ninth respectively. Ward responded back on the back nine, winning the 10th and 11th, before Ryu halved the match with a victory on the 15th, 1.5-1.5.
Furman would go on to claim the final two points on the course, as Ava Hanneman defeated Ida Lundh 2&1, while Andrea Marin Raga defeated Keely Johnson 4&3, to lift the Paladins over the Eagles.
