STATESBORO– After one of her best weekends as an Eagle, senior setter
Kirsten Barrett earned Sun Belt Setter of the Week honors for the second time in 2025, previously winning it during week one.
In three games and 11 sets, Barrett led the Sun Belt with 128 assists and 10.67 assists per set as the Eagles went 2-1. In addition, she recorded three consecutive double-doubles at the forefront of the Eagles' offense.
On Saturday at Georgia, Barrett tied her career-high with 53 assists in the five-set loss, adding 14 digs as the Eagles were on the cusp of taking down the Bulldogs. In four sets on Sunday, Barrett had 40 assists and 13 digs in the win in addition to contributing four kills and two blocks.
Overall on the weekend, she had 38 digs, five kills, two aces and four blocks to help the Eagles take two of three in Athens.
This is her fifth career honor, previously winning once this year and three times in 2024. That breaks a tie with
Ashlyn Lovett for the most weekly honors from the Sun Belt since the Eagles joined.
