STATESBORO– Men's basketball has its first signing of the 2025-26 transfer class, announcing the addition of Tavarus "Spudd" Webb, a transfer guard from Emmanuel University.
Webb spent the last three seasons with the Lions, scoring 1,413 career points, grabbing 563 rebounds and dishing 333 assists. In his three seasons at Emmanuel, Webb shot 54.5 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from three.
Webb was named First Team All-Conference Carolinas this season after averaging a career-best 20.6 points per game, leading the Lions in scoring with 618 points and shooting 55.6 percent (204-367) from the field, also shooting 80.4 percent (180-224) from the charity stripe. He was also named to the All-Defensive Team after averaging 6.0 rebounds per game.
During the campaign, he scored 20 or more points 17 times, 30 or more four times and finishing the year with a career-best 44-point outburst against UNC Pembroke. He had a pair of double-doubles and dished seven or more assists nine times.
In the NCAA, Webb placed 25th in total assists (152) and 23rd in assists per game (5.1), pacing the conference in both categories. He also placed top-50 in Division II in points, field-goal percentage and points per game.
A Hartwell, Ga. native, Webb is the all-time leading scorer at Hart County High School, a 4x All-State player and two-time player of the year.
Webb will look to bring his pedigree of success to the Division I level for the first time as a member of the Eagles.
