STATESBORO– After earning the same honor last week, Georgia Southern senior
Imani Moore was named Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week again, the league announced Wednesday.
Moore showed out in her final meet at home, finishing second in the record books in the triple jump with a mark of 12.65m - breaking her previous personal record of 12.60m.
She also continued her strong stretch in the long jump with a mark of 6.34m, winning both events. That mark broke the Georgia Southern facility record set back in 2006 by Nicole Brown.
Moore enters the end of April ranked 10th in Division I in the long jump on TFRRS. This is the first time in program history that the Eagles have had an athlete of the week in three consecutive league weeks.
The Eagles are back in action next weekend at both the Penn Relays (Thurs-Sat) and UCF Knights Invite (Fri-Sat).
