Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison women's tennis earned a 4-2 Sun Belt Conference victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Friday at the East Campus Indoor Tennis Courts in Harrisonburg, Va.
The Dukes moved to 8-12 overall and 6-4 in the Sun Belt with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 10-9 overall and 2-6 in the league. The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Troy to face the Trojans in a make-up match from March 30 that was rained out.
James Madison took a 1-0 lead in the match thanks to doubles wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
The Dukes extended their lead to 2-0 with a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, but Georgia Southern evened things up as Juliette Nask picked up her first win at the No. 1 singles spot this Spring, a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Elena Kraleva. Franzi Heinemann then picked up her sixth straight singles win with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Ines Oliveira at No. 3 singles.
James Madison then clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 4 singles and a straight-set win at No. 5 singles.
